About the map

The Creative Educators Map is designed to help parents, teachers, school leaders and those commissioning youth-focussed services (such as youth services and HAF teams) to find and connect with teaching artists and cultural providers in their area.

The website was originally created in 2020, as part of our pandemic response. It was intended to offer a way of signposting people to the many creative practitioners they have on their doorstep.

Two years on, the map serves as a demonstration of the vast scale and diversity of our creative and cultural education workforce.

Teachers, school leaders and local authority commissioners can use this map to discover local expertise, who can help them plan and deliver enriching and engaging creative education experiences for young learners of all ages.

Do Curious Minds endorse everyone on the map?

The information on this website has been compiled by Curious Minds in collaboration with PLMR and the network of regional Arts Council England Bridge Organisations. It collates data about practising UK-based arts professionals who work with children and young people into a single interactive map. The artists and organisations listed have not been vetted in any way and are not being endorsed by us. Schools and other organisations using this information to make links with artists in their area should always conduct their own safeguarding and reference checks.

About Us

Curious Minds is a leading charity which works to make high quality creative and cultural learning opportunities available to all children and young people, wherever they live and whatever their circumstance.

We do this by connecting teachers, youth workers and community leaders with artists and creative professionals; giving them access to information, expertise, space and resources to facilitate collaboration and innovation in the field of creative and cultural education.

We built this Creative Educators Map to demonstrate the vast scale and diversity of our creative and cultural education workforce in a way that hasn’t been done before. We also wanted to create a useful tool for teachers, school leaders, parents and carers; helping them to find and connect with the wealth of expertise that exists within their own local communities.
